We strongly recommend Moots to customers who want a “bike for life”, a bike that can do anything, go anywhere, and feel great in all conditions. These are a world away from the old-style super-harsh titanium racing frames, and even the race-stiff RSL model still has a finesse that is very much like the better carbon fiber race designs. Also noteworthy is Moots’ reconditioning service, where we can send the frame back to factory for polishing and new decals – the result is that your bike will be returned to you looking just like new again for a relatively small cost (under $500 in 2013, we can’t guarantee what they will charge in 2023).
This was the classic road bike that launched a veritable army of Moots fanatics. Comfortable beyond belief, once you get on a Vamoots you never want to get off.
The CR used to be known as simply the “Compact”. A sloping top tube provides a quicker ride quality and slightly quicker ride than the Vamoots, but still has the Moots signatures.
Double-reinforced tubes make this a stiffer, more responsive frame. This is the bike that took Moots out of a niche and right smack into the “world class high performance” category.
The LT has the wonderful foundation of the Vamoots, but built for long distances. Clearance for ultra-wide tires, spec’ed for long-reach calipers so you can install practically any fender on the planet, eyelets and mounts are standard, and a stretched geometry for ultra-smooth riding are all hallmarks of the LT version.
