Shop Rides

One of the most important things to us is staying connected to the community of cyclists that makes our shop possible. One of the ways we try to do that is through our weekly shop rides for customers, friends, and whoever wants to join us. All our rides leave from the shop promptly at 8:00am on Saturdays, almost regardless of weather (if it's really nasty or dangerous, we'll cancel). The atmosphere is casual, and we always maintain a nobody-gets-dropped policy. The pace is always manageable. Nobody should worry about not having experience or not being fit enough- we love to see people of all levels and abilities turning out to ride. Our aim is to provide an encouraging environment, and to have a lot of fun! So, feel free to stop by the shop for more information, or just turn up with your bike on Saturday, and join us!

Road: Temporarily suspended due to rainy, nasty weather. Look for the road ride to come back soon! We usually head out around Lake Sammamish, up Front Street/East Lake Sammamish Parkway, through Marymoor Park, back down West Lake Sammamish Parkway, and home on Newport way. It's a not-very-hilly 25.4 miles, with a rest-break at the half-way point at the Marymoor Velodrome. We'll usually throw in some sprints for the road signs at the top of the little hills just to spice things up a little. A perfect for riders of any ability, and nobody ever gets left behind. Average speed is usually between 14 and 16mph.

Mountain: Up Grand Ridge and back. We usually head out and back on the same trail, arriving at the shop by 10:00am. Even though Grand Ridge is a tough climb, so we take plenty of breaks on the way up to break up the hard work. Even though the climb is steep, you're rewareded by an awsome descent on the way back. It's a fun ride!

Cyclocross: The 'cross ride starts with a climb up the High School Trail to the top of the plateau. From there, we head out to a section of gravel/dirt that forms a nice loop with a steep descent on one side, and a another steep, loose dirt run-up on the other side. It's a great way to test all of your 'cross skills before Sunday's race!
